The C950 Multi-Channel Gas Exchange Software is designed for automated measurements of gas exchange (i.e. CO2, O2, H2 etc) in biological samples and it works together with the MCGES – Multichannel Gas Exchange System. The C950 software measures gas flow through sample chambers and other parameter such as temperature of the samples or gas, pressure and gas concentrations. The different channels are set up in parallel in sets of 8. The C950 software collects measurements from appropriate gas analyzers or sensors as set up in the gas exchange systems and allows data acquisitions i.e. pCO2 and pO2 supplied to the sample chambers and the pCO2 and pO2 in the effluent gas from the chambers. From these data the gas exchange rates of the samples, are calculated and corrected (if required) to a user-defined settings i.e. temperature (Q10) and RQ/PQ values.
The C950 Multichannel Gas Exchange Software also provides a real-time graphical display of the data and saves data in coma delimited files that can be opened with Excel or other spreadsheet programs.
Minimum computer requirements:
- A PC with either Windows 2000 or XP operating system.
- Screen resolution is best set at 1600 or greater and 32 bit.
Other components required:
- A data acquisition junction box that receives the cables from all instruments and assigns these to specific channels for communication with the computer via a ribbon cable.
- A National Instruments data acquisition card installed in the computer that provides the requisite number of analog and digital channels for data acquisition and control (PCI-6013 recommended).
