Q-Box Packages for Teaching and Research

Having surveyed numerous researchers and teachers in the biological sciences, and drawing upon our own experiences as published researchers and teachers, Qubit is launching its new line of Q-Box Packages for Teaching and Research in the biological sciences.

Qubit’s world class laboratory packages have always had a convenient modular format that allows you to switch components (gas analyzers, pumps, flow meters etc.) depending on the type of experiment you wish to conduct (photosynthesis, insect respirometry, large animal respirometry etc.).  With Qubit’s new Q-Box concept, the modularity is maintained, but each component is preconfigured into a tough case that can be transported anywhere within or outside your teaching or research facility.  Now your gas exchange system comes ready to go, fully plumbed and with data acquisition cables attached to the 4, 6 or 8 channel interface.  As always, the packages can be operated with either a PC or Macintosh computer.  Q-Box Packages are also compatible with any software that you may already possess.

The Q-Box  is designed for both field and laboratory use.  The weather-proof enclosure is tough, and Q-Box analyzers are housed in metal cases to withstand the rigours of the teaching lab and the great outdoors.   A centralized power source circumvents the need for multiple power supplies, yet each component has an individual power input so that they can be used independently if required.

The Q-Box concept offers you flexibility, convenience, durability and accuracy.  We can configure individual Q-Boxes to your precise requirements.  A plant scientist may only wish to measure leaf CO2 exchange, whereas a biology instructor may also wish to measure insect respirometry.  No problem!  Inform us of the range of experiments you wish to conduct, and we will configure the optimal Q-Box for your needs.  And if your needs, or budget, changes, you can always add components to increase the capabilities and flexibilty of your system.
