The S159 CO2 and O2 Analyzer is a combination of a flow-through non-dispersive infrared CO2 analyzer, a galvanic cell O2 sensor and a built in pressure sensor. These three independent sensors are housed in series inside a rugged, temperature-controlled case. The CO2 analyzer may be customized to different ranges from ppm to % and its resolution will depend on the range. The O2 analyzer provides measurements in 0-25% range with resolution of ±40ppm. The pressure sensor measures absolute pressure at the O2 sensor and this measurement is used in software to correct the O2 signal for any changes in pressure of the system. The range of CO2 sensor in this analyzer is determined by the application. This can vary from respirometry of small animals like insects to large animals like seals or environmental monitoring of indoor and outdoor settings. The S159 is a flow through analyzer and gas needs to be delivered to the sensors under pressure. Therefore, S159 can be purchased as a stand-alone analyzer or with a built-in gas pump (S159-P). For some applications a flow monitor 0-1 or 0-2LPM may also be included (S159-PF). The S159 CO2 and O2 analyzer is housed in a temperature controlled rugged case for better signal stability, making it ideal for field use with an optional battery pack. Three analog outputs of 0-5V are available from the S159 (CO2, O2 and Pressure). The S159 CO2 and O2 Analyzer requires data interface and software to collect and display data. We recommend using Qubit Systems’ supplied data interface and software (optional) but other data acquisition systems may also be used.
